You will need to meet the following minimum statutory requirements in order to study nursing at any Nursing Institution:
- National Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with exemption
- Communications Skills at NQF 4 Level (Matric)
- Mathematical Literacy at NQF 4 Level (Matric)
- Life Science at NQF 4 Level (Matric)
- Computer Literacy at NQF 3 Level (High School)
You will need to take a competency based assessment

How to take the nursing assessment
Complete the online application for assessment on Register Here
- Pay your R350.00 assessment fee
- Upload the supporting documents, including:
- Clear, scanned copy of your SA ID (If you’re a foreign student, you will need a clear, scanned copy of your passport, copy of visa, and SAQA qualification equivalent)
- Grade 12 certificate
- Proof of payment
Allmed Training Academy will contact you and invite you to attend the first available assessment at a centre closest to you.
Top Scoring Students
If you achieve 80% and higher in all 4 skill sets, and if you have a Grade 12 certificate which can be verified by UMALUSI, you will automatically be placed into our Candidate List for recommendation to nursing institutions of your choice, and your application process begins.
What happens if you don’t meet the minimum requirements?
If you do not meet the minimum entry requirements, or you have not achieved 80% or more in the required competency based assessment, you can apply to register for the foundation-phase programme that will help you get eligibility, including the Grade 12 equivalent you need:

Once you have completed your GED® Testing Programme, and passed your examinations successfully, Allmed Training Academy will make your details available to Nursing Training Institutions and we will immediately assist you with your application process.
